Our Mission Statement Includes Supporting veterans

For some veterans of US military service, the transition back to civilian life can present a set of challenges, maybe nightmares, inconceivable to most people.

Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a very real thing that many believe, unless you’ve been exposed to it either personally or through someone you care about, you are truly underestimating the impact it has. You know PTSD exists, but do you realize how powerful, how relentless it can be?

For some veterans, that feeling of helplessness, of isolation from society in general, can be too overwhelming. We all know what “22 a Day” means. In the US, veterans make up roughly 6 percent of the total population, but veterans account for 16% of the suicides annually.

In 2022, an estimated 75.9 percent of U.S. veteran and active service respondents indicated that they have experienced PTSD as a result of their military service.

One survey found that 44 percent of veterans considered taking their lives after joining the military in 2021.

Bee Window partners with Wounded Warrior Project

While we wholeheartedly give a standing ovation to every community, every organization and every individual who offers support for veterans, everyone needs to understand that what we have done is simply not enough. Every one of us could do more.

We made the decision at Bee Window to donate $15,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project in July 2024 and had great success with that campaign. There are 20 programs built around mental health, physical health, emotional wellbeing, and financial assistance for veterans. Our goal is to follow up on that with more fundraising efforts to do our part to honor those veterans who have, and will, serve this great nation and its people. “You are not only changing lives, you are saving lives.” says Daniel Miller

The Father of Our Country said it best:

“The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive how the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.”
